ABOUT

MISSION
To be a multicultural Christian institution equipping leaders
1. to follow the example of Christ inspired by the Holy Spirit for the glory of God,
2. to develop excellence in their character by acting justly, loving mercy, and walking humbly before God,
3. and to integrate evangelism into their leadership through their life style.

PHYLOSOPHY
1. We believe in biblical precepts as the foundation for excellent training of these leaders.
2. We use English as the means to impart all basic subjects; we offer current information and methods, preparing our students to meet the educational requirements and succeed in the exams mandated by the Costa Rican Ministry of Public Education, thus ensuring that our student body is bilingual.
3. We believe in reaching out to the community to apply the love of Christ through competent leaders serving with love.

VISION
Equipping excellent Christian leaders to be successful. We define “excellence” using the hebrew word shaliysh meaning threefold development of body, mind and  spirit. We also define “success” as overcoming all circumstances, even our own errors.  Error is the stepping-stone to success

HISTORY

Liberty Christian Academy was created on March 7, 1994. It is a private, non-profit institution under the spiritual protection of Union Church, whose pastors are James and Patricia McInnes. In the beginning, it drew heavily on the 1992 research of Mr. Allan D. Phillips of Oral Roberts University in Oklahoma, on the establishment of new Christian schools in Latin America. It also gained momentum from the first Director, Mrs. Marilyn Gelvin. It first opened its doors to six pioneering students. The facilities are located on the grounds of Union Church, part of which was originally donated by Mr. Reese Harris. Starting in 2004, LCA began expanding its curriculum into the secondary school. Today it continues to grow and build leaders under the devoted, dynamic leadership of Mrs. Wendy Mora.
